Regional Climate Change Effects on the Viticulture in Portugal
نویسندگان
چکیده
The grapevine (Vitis vinifera) is widely cultivated for the production of wine and other commodities. Wine globally traded, with an annual market value approximately USD 4 billion in Portugal alone. However, climate change expected to profoundly alter regional temperature precipitation regimes across Iberian Peninsula and, thus, continental Portugal, potentially threatening impact viticulture. We used boosted regression trees environmental variables describing climate, soil, topography, irrigation a large number presences (N = 7002) estimate suitability baseline (1981–2010) three future periods spanning from 2011 2100 using two trajectories (SSP3-7.0 SSP5-8.5) scenarios (continued ceased). Under SSP3-7.0 SSP5-8.5 without irrigation, our results suggest decline suitable viticulture area ~20% ~80% by 2041–2070 2011–2041, respectively. Following this decline, data potential recovery 2071–2100 ~6% ~186%, more complex: 2071–2100, Região Norte, Douro region, Algarve, example, each would experience changes range −92% −48%, −86% −24%, −59% 267%, respectively, depending mostly on practicality irrigation.

Effects of regional climate change on rural fires in Portugal
Wildfires are a major problem in Portugal. Since 1980 an area equivalent to 3/5 of the forested surface has burned. The aim of the study was to assess the potential impact of regional climate change on wildfires in Portugal using an appropriate Burnt Area Model (BAM). Based on multiple regression analysis, the model was able to estimate the decimal logarithm of the monthly burnt areas in July a...
متن کاملthe effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends
flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...
Regional climate change scenarios and their impacts on water requirements for wheat production in Iran
We simulate the effect of climate change on water requirements of cold seasonwheat in various climatic zones of Iran. The research considers both observedclimate (temperature and precipitation) changes during recent decades (1960-2009)based on instrumental records and projected future changes to 2100 based on theMAGICC/SCENGEN 5.3 compound model. 20 General Circulation models are usedbased on a...
متن کاملSimulation of climate change in Iran during 2071-2100 using PRECIS regional climate modelling system
Parameters such as future precipitation, temperature, snowfall, and runoff were modeled using PRECIS regionalclimate modeling system in Iran with the horizontal resolutions of 0.44×0.44°C in latitude and longitude under SRESA2 and B2 scenarios. The dataset was based on HadAM3p during the periods of 1961-1990 and 2071-2100. Theoverall precipitation error of the model in the period of 1961-1990 w...
متن کاملClimate change effects on economic growth: mixed empirical evidence
West Africa is vulnerable to the effects of climate change. This paper analyzed the impacts of climate change on economic growth in Anglophone West Africa with similar background, during the periods 1969-2016. Five growth model equations have been developed to incorporate climate change variables into the model. Panel data estimations such as the fixed effect model, random effect model and Haus...
